The summer-flower has run to seed,
And yellow is the woodland bough;
And every leaf of bush and weed
Is tipt with autumn’s pencil now.
And I do love the varied hue,
And I do love the browning plain;
And I do love each scene to view,
That’s mark’d with beauties of her reign.
John Clare 1821
It is coming to that time of year when our thoughts have moved from the carefree long light nights of summer, to the closing in of the day. The putting on the scarf, and wellies. The winter coat. Conkers on the ground, a frost in the air, leaves in amazing shades falling and carpeting the forest floor.
Autumn makes me sigh and smile, because in a nostalgic way I remember spinning around and throwing leaves in the air; stuffing my pockets with shiny brown conkers and all the excitement leading up to Halloween, bonfire night, and the upcoming winter festivities.
Autumn means new pages, new school terms, but most of all autumn is about colour; rust, yellow, red, brown, purple, gold. Natures jewel box.
All of these make me love it (her?).
Time to get out and about build dens, explore woodland and definitely a wonderful wonderful time to have a fabulous colourful portrait shoot.
If you love autumn and if you would adore a beautifully printed and framed picture to put on your wall, some fine art prints in an heirloom box, or if you want a want something very special to give someone at Christmas do send me a message as soon as possible. I would love to have your name in my diary. Dates are going quickly, and before you know it will be spring and that is another story.
Love you pic mrs. Can’t wait to see the ones I would like you to do of my grandchildren xxx
I am really looking forward to it Amanda x
